History
This museum was founded in 1941 by a group of businessmen who wanted to create an educational institution for the community. The first exhibit opened its doors on June 21st, 1942 at Will Rogers Memorial Center and featured fossils, birds, and mammals from Texas as well as other parts of America. The museum moved again in 1986 before settling down at its current location where it opened up an entirely new building complete with state-of-the-art facilities for science and history education.
