Things to Do With Your Family in Atlanta, GA

Do you want to have family fun with your loved ones in Atlanta, Georgia? Well, there are lots of things you can do, thanks to the myriad of attractions available in this city.  Some of them include;

Visit the world of coca cola

One of the best places to visit with kids in Atlanta, GA is the world of Coca-Cola. This place was established in the 1880s when Dr. John Pemberson came up with a syrup specially made to relieve headaches. Soon after, his friend created a blend of glutinous liquid, carbonic acid and water to create what is today the world’s most popular soft drink – Coca-Cola.

The World of Coca-Cola is the perfect place for your children to learn about the history of this amazing drink, and he/she might as well come out of this destination with some skills.

Check out the Center of Puppetry Arts

For a fact, most, if not all children love puppets. One of the places where they are able to see and interact with all kinds of puppets in Atlanta is the Center of Puppetry Arts.

This museum has a vast collection of puppets from different parts of the world. Some of the puppets include African Rod Puppets and the Chinese hand puppets.

Apart from the puppets, this place also provides New Directions Series and Family Series Performances which are all geared towards entertaining your children who are in their teenage years.

Hike the Stone Mountain Park

The Stone Mountain Park is located in DeKalb County, which is about 16 miles east of Atlanta’s CBD. It features an 863-foot-high stone mountain which covers an area of about five miles.

On the east flank of the hill lies the relief of President Jefferson Davis and his two generals – Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.

Other than experiencing the memorial of these confederate leaders, you can also climb to the top of the hill and descend using a cable car.

Have fun at the Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is the largest park in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Apart from the running and walking trails, this park is also characterized by sports fields, off-leash dog parks, gardens, and most importantly, it has a playground made for the young ones.

For children who want to take a dip, there is an expansive pool located at the Piedmont Park Aquatic Center, and a splash pad where they can play with water all day long.

As children play, you can head out to the Green Market if you are lucky to be in the park on Saturday. Here, you can buy fresh produce from the farmers, and also find hand-made soaps, sheep cheese, sheep milk, smoked meat and biscuits, as well as Iris Pancakes.
