Dallas Zoo
The Dallas Zoo is a great place to visit with the whole family. There are plenty of things to see and do in Dallas, Texas, and the zoo is home to some amazing animals. If you’re planning on visiting the Dallas Zoo soon, be sure to check out these tips!
Come With Children
Children will love the Dallas Zoo. There are plenty of things for them to see and do, and they can learn a lot about animals too. Also, most of the exhibits have areas where children can get up close and personal with the animals.
Bring a Picnic Lunch
The Dallas Zoo has a lot of great food options, but if you’re looking to save a little money, bring your own picnic lunch. There are plenty of places to eat outdoors, so you can enjoy your meal while taking in the sights and sounds of the zoo. There are also a few places to buy snacks and drinks if you need them.
Arrive Early
If you want to avoid the crowds, be sure to arrive at the zoo early. The gates open at nine in the morning, and by noon most of the crowds have already arrived. If you’re not interested in dealing with large crowds, try visiting on a weekday instead of over the weekend.
Take a Stroller
If you have young children, it’s probably a good idea to bring along a stroller. There are plenty of paved paths throughout the zoo, but they can get tired quickly from walking long distances. A stroller will also come in handy for carrying all of your supplies (see below).
Pack Accordingly
The Dallas Zoo is a big zoo, and there’s a lot to see. That means you’ll probably be doing a lot of walking, so it’s important to pack accordingly. Make sure to bring sunscreen, hats, water bottles, and snacks. You may also want to bring along a camera so you can capture all the memories!
Be Aware of Animals
The Dallas Zoo is home to a variety of animals, and it’s important to be aware of them while you’re visiting. Some of the animals may look tame, but they can still be dangerous. Always obey the zoo staff’s instructions, and never try to touch or feed any of the animals. Also, remember to keep an eye on your children at all times.
Visit the Aquarium and Dinosaur Exhibits
The aquarium is a great place to visit while you’re at the Dallas Zoo. It’s indoors, so it’s nice and cool during those hot summer days. There are also plenty of interactive exhibits for kids (and adults!) to enjoy. The aquarium is located next door to the zoo, but there are shuttles that can take you back and forth between the two locations if needed. You may want to plan on spending a few hours exploring everything this attraction has to offer!
These are just a few tips for visiting the Dallas Zoo. Be sure to check out the zoo’s website for more information!
