In 1971, the first residents of this large master-planned community in Harris County moved into their new homes. The area is now home to over 65,000 residents. Many of the 25 Kingwood residential communities have access to a community pool as well as services for residents. Kingwood is known for its “Livable Forest” and it’s harmony with magnolias, pines, and other shade trees. There are many trails for biking and hiking that run through the forests and waterways of these neighborhoods. This provides ample opportunities to socialize, exercise and relax.

Friendswood Development Company is creating a village named Royal Brook to meet the growing demand for homes in Kingwood. It’s located near the corner of West Lake Houston Parkway and Mills Branch Road. New homes starting at $300,000.00 to $700,000.00 are now available in the first phase. Village residents will be served by the Humble Independent School District, an award-winning school district.


Oakhurst, a part of Kingwood’s masterplan, is one the most recent villages in the Livable Forrest. Beautiful homes can be found among the Oakhurst Golf Club’s fairways. There are 75 miles of greenbelt paths connecting the communities.
