The grounds, especially the pool and beach location were great. The rooms were lovely. However, the level of hospitality I’ve come to expect at a Ritz Carlton property was not up to par. Service at the pool, restaurant and front desk were below the standard of other Ritz Carlton properties where my family and I have stayed in the recent past. Staff were not attentive, well informed about what the hotel offered, or especially friendly. While the pool itself was great, my family and I would likely stay at Loews South beach next time where the service is more professional. My family and I have depended on the Ritz Carlton brand to ensure we will be at a hotel that’s hospitality matches it’s prices. Sadly, that was not the case at Ritz Carlton South Beach.

I had a spectacular experience at the Ritz in South Beach! The employees are taught very well and are attentive and go out of their way for you! It makes such a huge difference when people do their job well!!!! Also the hotel after the renovations is clean and modern and a perfect place to hang out! Really well air conditioned, always smells nice inside. The restaurant by the pool has amazing food and is beautiful. The pool service was amazing, drinks were perfect and again, the STAFF was 10/10!!!! I will 100% return here, in fact, I can’t wait lol! Good Job, Keep it up!!!!

We received such exceptional service from the moment we arrived! Every employee we walked passed, greeted us and offered assistance in any kind of way. The front desk also ( I believe her name was Shelly?) who checked us in was so kind, informative, and efficient. She got us an amazing upgrade with ocean view and a balcony, and then got us a champagne toast as we waited. I cannot wait to come back here!

Great room, great service, great location. It could use a little updating but they’re were in the process of that during our short stay. Pool closed earlier than I like so we didn’t get a chance to use it but other than that everything else was fine. Lots of shopping close by. And the beach is like only a block or 2 sway

A nice hotel in Miami Beach. It is less than 5 minutes walk from the beach and borders a strip of shops and restaurants. My wife and I (we are from Germany) stayed for a few nights on our honeymoon. To be fair I have to say that we were actually only in our room to sleep. So I can’t say anything about the equipment. But the rooms were tidy.

Budget budget and not very nice in summary. Good location. Pool a bonus and staff happy to help. Not sure why Trailfinder have this on the list. Very jaded rooms are 20 years old at best. Rotting wood in bathrooms. Paint peeling off ceilings. And bed is not what you pay you hard earned cash for. Lumpy and years of usage. Upgrade to a better option.

I didn’t stay at this hotel, but I did stop in a grab a day pass with a couple of my friends while we waited for our place be ready.
This was perfect for what we needed at the time. They have a few options that included the day pass for access to the amenities by the pool, a beach pass that included the same offer as the day pass and access to a couple things at the beach. There were a couple room packages as well for anyone looking for home base if you don’t have a room on south beach or are waiting for yours to be ready. Very affordable for the convenience. Being able to drop my bags off for a few was a major plus. This is a very underrated feature.
As far as our experience, it was great in the time that we were there. We were welcomed with open arms from Adam the bartender soon as we sat down at the pool bar. Adonis, the bar manager, accompanied him later behind the bar and was very welcoming as well. It was also great to meet another Adonis in the service industry.
A must stop if you are on the beach. Sometimes it can be difficult to find quality service on the beach, but this venue has a great team from what we experienced.

I absolutely loved this Hotel. Met very expectation and more! People are very helpful, courteous great attitudes, great vibe. Ariel at the breakfast spot was awesome! Rosa and Shelly were great with us at the front desk. The place smells great. Room was nice and clean! Very updated. Great views and even better prices! Pool was really nice and clean garden area was pretty chill and relaxing. Now the beach, the beach was beautiful. Water was really clear. And there’s was always plenty of shades to lay and enjoy the view! It was our first time here in Miami and i will most definitely come back. And will sure book here again! Over all a great experience!

At a nice hotel you expect staff to be nice, but Luis and Shelly (phonetic) took it to a different level. We marched in with 2 small kids, a ton of bags, and a stroller, and Luis jumped in on a mission to be helpful. Carrying the stroller up the stairs, working bags with care (appreciated, with all my work electronics), and escorted us in VIP like we were the hotel’s only guests. Shelly was apparently on a mission to one-up Luis, and was bubbly, and helped us with several unique needs. We felt special, it didn’t feel like checking into a hotel, it felt like checking into The Grand at Moon Palace. Shelly and Luis, I hope this message finds it’s way to you somehow. Thank you.

This was my first time staying at Loews Miami. 3 friends and myself stayed for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. It was outstanding. Any issues or questions were answered via text. The ocean view room with a balcony was perfect. The pool and the beach were perfect. Everyone we interacted with from the staff was friendly and kind. Anytime I go back to Miami, I plan to stay at Loews.

We booked this hotel exclusively because of the kids club, paddle boards, kayaks and the activities they have.
We arrived on Sunday and until Friday the kids club was only open for one day. One day when the weather is nice and we can use kayaks and paddle boards and when I called the reception they said that the kids club is not open, and we go to the beach and again they said sorry no paddle boards again for today (I was spoke with receptionist and they said the weather is good, everything is available to use). So disappointed. And also what is the point of your kids club then, parents make reservations because their children want to have a little fun and they also want to have time for themselves.
Also, two days in a row at 8 a.m. the work starts, drilling the walls, as if someone is hanging pictures on the wall and banging. So you will get a free wake me up at 8am while on vacation.
On the beach, you have to wait in line to get a towel. And the room that we booked is the city view, and we got a view of the terrace.
Only the service and servers at the pool are good.
Everything else is zero.
Never again.

The staff are very nice and professional! The place is very very good for families! Its not crowded either! Its right next to the beach and there are restaurants within a walking distance! I loved their pool by the way. Its a private pool…not open to the public. We enjoyed our stay here! The service is phenomenal! Location just perfect. The rooms are not too spacious however I have nothing to complain about. They served us well! See you soon GOD willing. 💕

Sofia met us at front desk and assisted us with checking in. She is an incredibly friendly, courteous and professional person and made us feel instantly welcome and special. Eric and Katherine are amazing pool bar waiters. Always attentive and ready to assist. Absolute superstars at their job. Max, at the Mareva, was very knowledgeable about the menu and incredibly warm, kind and hospitable. The staff make this hotel and absolute joy to visit.

The day before my arrival the manager called and offered a complimentary upgrade to our room with included a balcony overlooking the beautiful pool. The hotel was very clean and smelled amazing. However, what really made our stay special was the my boyfriend proposed and without my knowledge he requested the help of the hotel staff to stage the our room to surprise me upon returning from dinner. It was perfect!! They set up a beautiful origami on the bed with the roses petals my fiance brought. We really enjoyed out stay. Thank you for making our stay even more special!!

The hotel was nice and clean! Me and my husband were there for 4 days and we really enjoyed our stay! It was right in the middle of everything! Very walkable to everything. The pool was nice and simple and cabanas but our favorite part was laying out on top of the rooftop lounge chairs over looking the buildings and the night sky! We would definitely come back to stay here!

Horrible horrible experience. This hotel is cat fish when you see the outside area and the lobby you would think it was a nice classy hotel. You would think you found such a good deal to be just one block away from south beach… BUT it’s a scam literally the rooms are disgusting and super tiny. Literally it’s just a room with a bed unlike any hotel or motel I’ve ever seen. The whole entire property is small like a little European place but it has style but really it’s a raggedy 1 star motel. I rather pay more to have a comfortable night sleep. The bathroom was dirty shower nasty felt like I was still dirty. Towels and cloths dirty bugs crawling all in my room on the AC the night stand and in the bathroom. My cousin literally slept in the lobby because she was so uncomfortable. One night was bad enough please be aware of this hotel rooms are not worth the price unless you have no other choice

EVERYTHING was on point at the Betsy. Perfect location just on the outer edge of the Ocean Drive craziness, and a very short walk to the beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas included in the resort fee were super useful. The coffee shop on the Collins Ave side of the building was great for a morning pick-me-up. Wonderful drinks and live music in the evenings make the lobby feel so elegant. The two pools were nice and peaceful. Fritzner and Antonio at the front desk were always willing to help with whatever we needed each day. My only wish was that the prices direct through Betsy’s website were more competitive, since I prefer to book direct and I know that it’s financially advantageous for the owners as well. Great work, Betsy team. We WILL be back!

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Great bar with live music and has outside seating which is great for people watching. perfect location and easy access to beach with chairs/towels available at the beach from the hotel. Nice terrace pool as well. We were upgraded to a suite facing ocean drive and it was wonderful experience all around. Would definitely come back.

We loved everything about this hotel. So unique and well done in every aspect. There were so many little nooks and crannies to explore- a library, pool, cafe, many little places to sit down and read. Very dog friendly, our chihuahua was in heaven. Also the staff was so friendly – thanks Juan for great care. We will for sure be back next time we are in south beach.

I deliberated long and hard before booking the Clay. Im glad to report that in the main, our stay was a pleasant one.
When making the reservation I asked for a “quiet room if possible” beforehand via email to avoid any noise from espanola way/washington avenue. hey presto, they put us in a room around the back. A problem solved quite easily. I had no problems at the reception, yes the staff are foreign, but we understood each other without any problems. the price is good, and the room was fine by us. if we wanted to be ultra fussy, I suppose we could say that the carpet felt “slightly” sticky and the bottom of the bath was dirty. I cant be 100% sure this was the case though. the bath looked dirty but when I tried to scrub the “dirt” off i couldnt so I think it is due to the age of the old enamel bath. i didnt have a problem showering whilst stood in it anyway, and I consider myself hygenic.
The balcony in the communal room overlooking espanola way was great! you could lap up the street atmosphere whilst having a beer or two of your own before going out.
The bed was immaculately clean, and the TV reception was good, and the fridge was clean.
I did spot a bug on the wall on the morning of our departure, I couldnt verify what kind it was, but we did have our window open for our entire stay, so i’m reluctant to blame the hotel for that. the air conditioning was good but noisy, so we tended to use it just for short periods, and it suited us fine.
one black mark is the shared bathrooms: when exiting/entering the bathroom you have to lock/unlock access for the adjacent guests while you are in there. Not a problem, if people use the bolts quietly. In our case I think two gorillas had taken residence in the adjoining room as they were really noisy with the bolt in the middle of the night. but, that isnt the hotels fault!
all in all, a good budget hotel, which I would be glad to stay at again.

This was such a fun stay in an ideal location. So many varied amenities are within a 2-3 block max, and there’s a fun Cuban restaurant right in the building. Jalissa at the front desk was incredibly personable and helpful as was the rest of the staff we encountered. Easy walk to the beach where you’re given a voucher for a chair and umbrella, and you can lounge by the hotel pool or stroll along the fabulous Beachwalk. Would absolutely return.

I felt the need to write this review because after reading all of the frightening reviews from other people my trip was almost entirely ruined & I was frantically trying to find a way to get out of this reservation. Let me say first that if you are a family with children looking for a nice place to stay to enjoy a peaceful trip this place probably isn’t for you. But if you are a young group looking for an affordable place to stay that is right next to literally EVERYTHING this place is awesome! The staff was super friendly and I definitely felt safe staying here. I will agree the hallways weren’t great, the carpet needs to be ripped up but honestly who cares? The elevator did break down momentarily but they had it up and running within a few hours. The rooms themselves had basic necessities. This is a 3 star hotel what did you expect? The bed was incredibly comfortable and came with sheets and a comforter (unsure about these other reviews claiming there were no blankets?). The air conditioner worked great, the bathroom was fine. It wasn’t fancy by any means but that’s not why we reserved this hotel. It was very clean. They offer towels and chairs for guests to go to the beach which is right next door, they also have coffee in the mornings. The fridge really didn’t work but we had a cooler and they have ice available so that wasn’t an issue. Honestly the sketchiest thing about this place was the parking garage we had to park at for $40 a night a block away & they don’t own that parking garage. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely use this hotel again.

The lift was out of action. We were not told this before arriving.
The basement restaurant is closed. We were not told this before arriving.
The rooftop bar is closed. We were not told this before arriving.
The second floor corridor (we didn’t go on other floors) is disgusting. The carpet is filthy and extremely stained. The walls appear to be marked up for repair but there’s no evidence of any repair works being done.
Outside our room there was a roof hatch that dripped water on you when you enter or exit the room and can be heard dripping on the carpet from inside the room. The carpet was soaked.
The walls are thin. We could clearly hear the occupant of the next room snoring.
The bathroom in the room is fine but very dated.
The clean towels provided to us by housekeeping on our second day were dirty with black marks on them.
The upsides of this hotel are the bed is good, the AC and wifi work, and the location is good.
This hotel should seriously consider shutting off a floor at a time for proper renovations. There is no way this hotel should be described as 3 star.
My advice – avoid this hotel.
