Eight o’clock Theatre is a theatre that was founded in 1947. The first show they ever put on was “The Importance of Being Earnest”. It’s been open every night since then and has never closed its doors to the public. They have a large variety of shows from comedy to drama, and even offer some children-friendly productions as well!

History

This theatre located in Largo FL has a long and rich history. It was founded in 1947 by two sisters, Dorothy Flanders and Edna Thornton. They saw the need for entertainment that was family-friendly during the aftermath of World War II. Their first show ever put on at this theatre? “The Importance of Being Earnest”. The rest is (and will remain!) history!

They have been open every night since their opening, so they are definitely true to their word! This means it’s never too late to catch one of these shows which run from Wednesday through Sunday evening as well as some Mondays throughout the year. What To Expect

So what exactly can you expect from a visit to Eight O’Clock Theatre? Well, it really depends on the show that is currently running. If they’re currently performing “Romeo & Juliet” then you know there’s going to be death involved at this play which means lots of tears will be shed!
