McGregor Boulevard was originally named after the McGregor family, who were among the first settlers of Fort Myers in 1866. The original name for McGregor Boulevard was “South Avenue.” In 1913, the City Council of Fort Myers voted to change it to honor Dr. Alexander McGregor, a physician and early settler of Fort Myers. Today, this street is known as one of the most desirable streets in all of Southwest Florida!
