The Venetian Pool is a historic landmark in North Miami, FL. It was constructed by George E. Merrick and opened to the public on November 18th, 1925, with the goal of providing a place for visitors from all over to come and enjoy Florida’s natural resources.
In this blog post, we will explore why the Venetian Pool remains as popular as ever nearly 100 years later!
Cave and waterfall at the Venetian Pool
The pool itself was modeled after an ancient Roman bath, with waterfalls and grottos that are decorated in beautiful tiles. The entire area is built to look like a lush oasis within the middle of North Miami. Visitors have access to free lifeguards all day long, as well as complimentary towels and lockers for their belongings. There are no chlorine tablets added into the pools here – instead, natural spring water continuously pumps through each one! This allows visitors to enjoy the crystal clear waters without any chemical smells or skin irritations whatsoever!
Venetian Pool Turtle Pond
There’s so much more than just swimming at this amazing site though! Every visitor who comes will be able to explore around one of Florida’s largest turtle ponds, where they will find both river and sea turtles swimming in the water!
Special area for kids
There is a special area just for children near the pool itself called “Tot Splash” which has an interactive play fountain that shoots high into the air as well as smaller fountains designed specifically for toddlers. Kids can run around, get wet and cool off here during the hot summer months.
Cafe with tons of choices
There is also a cafe here on site that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu has something for everyone; you can enjoy healthy salads with fresh fish or chicken or opt instead to try an American classic like burgers and fries! There are even vegan options available too. No matter what your cuisine preference though, there are sure to be delicious choices waiting right here at the Venetian Pool Cafe in North Miami!
Picnic tables
There are also picnic tables available for visitors who would like to bring their own food or snacks with them while spending time at Venetian Pool in North Miami! This site is perfect for families looking to spend a day out together without breaking too much of a bank account.
Lake Osceola walkway
Nearby Lake Osceola has another attraction that many people enjoy: its walking path along its shoreline. There are plenty of benches spread throughout this area where you can sit down and relax after an active morning at the pool itself! For those who don’t want to do any swimming whatsoever but still want to explore nature, this allows you to enjoy your time in North Miami.
